Remap for mk2 vrs

Featured Replies

if i was to try somewhere like shark performance, tho they may be better i wouldnt be covered under warranty, whereas if i was to try it at rainsworth i would be

i am assuming then that if rainsowrth are registered with revo and they are a certified skoda dealer the map covered under warranty would be the same if i went to my local skoda dealer.

oooh, thats an interesting thought..... could I go to rainworths for a map , then go to my local dealer and all be hunky dorey?...

I'd like to think so, but when I asked the service manager when I had the 10k service done, he flatly said, "any remap will viod the warrenty..."

where'as my lovely local fiat dealer when I remapped the punto said.. "why would we void you warrenty when fiat pay us to fix your car if it goes wrong?" hhmmm

any skoda dealers out there who will honor a warrenty with a map?!

(and if you are reading this border cars of lillyhall , you know mine isn't mapped!!!!!!!)

You would be covered by rainworth only as they have chosen to do remaps. the remap isn't skoda uk/worldwide approved so if you went elsewhere you wouldn't be covered.

Have a read of post one from a guy with revo having issues at his dealer now. Makes interesting reading.

It appears revo and the seat hq aren't on the best terms over the mis fire issues. Guess they got the 'its not the map response' lol

There's also one guy having an engine rebuild after it went pop big style, he does track his car alot though, my be he had it set up to high with his sps, who knows. Intersting thing for me though is he's uprating all the parts which is good news for us following behind.

Id like to add this isn't me slating revo, that thread I've linked is from a revo customer

The seat guys with the older 1.4 tsi's seem to be having a huge issue. Mostly spark plugs, injectors and misfires.

janner i went onto the shark performace website and there were no links for remapping my car only the deisel one

They're site is well out of date I think. But i assure you they do. Me sadhan and big grey are all running shark 1.4TSI software. They are stage 1, im stage 2. Tbh i think they rely on word of mouth via forums for sales.

Same here. The only one who I'll let remap my car is Shark and all because people like Sy speak so highly of them. I've yet to hear a complaint

Hi

i am considering getting the revo remap for my mk2 vrs, does anybody think it is worth the risk with the warranty issues??

thanks james

My personal opinion would be definitely not. Warranty and insurance would be voided and you would need to advise your insurance company who would either turn you down or sting you.

The car goes like stink anyway. I often glance around car parks and smile, as I have the fastest car there.

Regards

Tony :)

You can get a revo remap done at rainsworth skoda dealership as they have the trAining and equipment and because it's done at a skoda dealership and by skoda mechanics they will stamp your log book as the workall approved and done by skoda therefor being completely under warranty :D

I'm not sure if an issue was escalated to Skoda UK if they would honor any claims?

Any one investigated this?

Tony

Something you might want to consider

Mine had multipule missfires on all cylenders, It was diagnosed as all four plugs. All were replaced at the dealers and it works fine.

Plugs arnt coverd under warrenty anyway and so they never submitted it, but they did say because it is remapped it i dont have any engine warrenty.

From talking with a SEAT HQ guy, Revo and Seat fell out over the findings of the 4th cylinder and how Revo are telling everyone about it. As a result SEAT are now removing REVO from dealers and voiding all remaped cars..... not good :-(
