Resevoir leakage

Featured Replies

I't seems that my resevoir with the cleaningfluid for the windscreen is leaking. Can anyone tell me how i can reach that resevoir. It seems to go al the way down to the bottom of the car. (it is below the battery).

Can I disconnect the battery to get there? Or will disconnecting the battery cause other problems.

Greetings Yuri

Mine started leaking a few weeks back (big tank with xenons). It leaks all the time (not just when operating the washers) when full and stops leaking just before the 'bottle nearly empty' warning sounds. Unless it gets worse, it'll wait till the first service.

Make a note of the radio code before disconnecting the battery 'just in case.' If you have one touch operation of the front windows, this may need resetting once the battery is reconnected. Details are in the handbook.

Mine is broken on the filler pipe, I used some silicon sealant to stop it leaking, will get it replaced when the car is in for service.

I bet it's the pipes that have come loose, in cold weather they expand as the water inside freezes and fall off! Used to happen quite a lot on my old Y reg TDi Fabia but dealer always fixed it in about 5 minutes, no battery out - I guess they tackled it from below...

You need to make sure there is plenty of screen wash with anti-freeze in the reservoir and I presume there is a fix (cable tie etc) nowadays...
