Seat Strut Brace

Featured Replies

hi there does anyone know how easy it is to fit the seat strut brace, eg do you need to drill holes etc?

if its hard do you reccomend anyone to do it?

No drilling required, the strut brace uses the same mounting bolts as your strut top mounts.

iirc there is a "howto" in the articles section of the site.

If a mechanical numpty (i.e me ;)) can do it in less than five minutes, then anyone can fit one of these things. :D

Little follow-up q - does it come with the appropriate bolts, washers and so on?

My mate has a garage so he can fit it safely for me, but I'd have to bring in all the bits, spray the darn thing green, and bring it in for a quick fitting :D

you can fit it yourself no problems with no extra parts required. The only thing would be the respray.

No bolts needed, as it uses the existing strut bolts. It literally is undo two bolts each side, plonk in brace, and re-do up aforementioned bolts. :D

Will get round to picking one up eventually! Anyone got any paint codes so I can pick up some Skoda green paint? I know there was a thread on it somewhere, but it's late and I'm tired

Steve

IIRC on a previous thread, the brace was painted in a green from a Ford Mondeo. It was a funny sounding name so go to halfords and you won't miss it :)

I'll try and find the other thread. It listed two possible paint choices. Think it might have been Hammerite?

The two choices are Hammerite Smooth Green or British Standard colour 14 E 53 (Shamrock).

Great, thanks. Is Hammerite available at Halfrauds?

Steve

Yes last time I looked.
