New car ordered

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

After much pondering i've ordered a Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI Combi (estate) Elegance (140bhp)

With Black Magic Pearl, with Onyx interior, and 18" Thermisto alloys

Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror (which is nice as it also dims the side mirrors too, per the handbook)

Full Size Spare (which I hear is not so full size) (Im not into a can of Gunk!)

There was plenty of other options that took my fancy but they were just nice to haves rather than useful/essential.

Went for this as it was a great deal will be delivered in about 3 weeks ish, and perfect for my needs. I was pondering the 170bhp but 140bhp will be more than adequate, and when I want a real blast I will go for a proper one on the VFR800 that is in my garage ;-) which the savings over the 170bhp will basically pay for over the year! So justifies me keeping it!

Happy days!

The only thing I wanted that I wasnt able to order as it was a stock car was the rear blinds for the back windows, but I will just buy some after market ones. Ive seen a few useful links on the site, so will have to look for them again if you guys have any ideas then please let me know.

Cheers.

Black is THE colour!

Good choice.

This is the spare wheel with a jack etc.

Good one - I've got a Combi Estate 140 on order, SE spec rather than Elegance.

Sounds like you've got lucky with the leadtime with it being a "stock" car - well done!

Reference the blinds, I've got some custom blinds for my Octavia which are very good - require no modifications and clip into the rubber window surround. There are plenty of links on this site though.

Perfect, as much as it isnt an alloy, I wouldnt be worried too much getting home on that wheel, well worth the extra!

As for the blinds, im quite happy to buy after market, just like the mats, and what not!

Can't wait!

After having my VRs slip off the jack (and put a nice dent in the sill) on the side of the M25 at 6.30 in the morning and at minus 5, I think i'd stick with the "gunk" or wait for the AA! :'(

But what do you expect the AA to do when they show up with a ruined tyre? Do you expect the gunk to fix a ruined tyre when you pull up on the motorway, it will be pretty ruined!

The main reason is I wouldnt mind calling the AA, but for them to change the tyre for me. Rather than asking... well what exactly do you want me to do? lol Apart from take your tyre to the nearest garage and have a replacement put on... at 6.30 in the morning lol.

when it slipped off the jack the AA had to recover it anyway! lol

You make a good point though and I hadn't thought about if I had a ruined tyre, maybe I should add it to my order... (my dealer is going to love me now :giggle: )

I didn't think the UK spec dimmed the wing mirrors, I hope it does.

May be right... I downloaded a handbook per the sticky on this site, so it could be a more european English handbook.

But obviously you dont get dimming mirrors unless you have the sensor on the dimming rear view mirror anyway, so it is not a standard feature!
