Hello all,

I just had a knock in the car tracked down to a top mount, so it will need replacing.

I am going to get both sides done and found a thread whilst looking for the part numbers saying that you can use the Leon Cupra R top mounts, as they are stiffer.

What would peoples opinions be, stick with standard or go for the Cupra ones?

For those that are interested here are the part numbers I found -

Mounts: 1ML 412 331 (x2)

Bearings: 1J0 412 249 (x2)

Nuts: 1H0 412 365A (x2)

Also, whilst I have you all... With regards to the mk4 Golf aero wiper arms, if I buy/get salvaged arms, are they a direct fit to the Octy.

Also, would you then just buy replacement Golf aero wipers?

yup aero wipers and arms are the way to go not the retro fit ones.(look gash imo) dont look right while in the car let alone out.

I found that cheapo aero blades for the OE arms didnt work as well and I was left with a patch that was untouched by the blade right in the middle of the window so I got OE ones from VW and they were spot on.

As for top mounts the LCR ones are over 2x the price of the std ones. I just used std ones and they are fine but I have LCR ones to go on with the KWv3's. SteveWonder, Bowders1 have them on iirc so will shed more light. the bearings are the same tho I think?

For the Cupra R top mounts speak to David at Sere Motors (02890385336).

Yep I have LCR top mounts and are very good. lot stiffer and will not loose there shape as quick as the std units.

Wheather they are overkill on std suspension, not to sure. They compliment my coilovers well as coilovers stress the bushes more.

You can gets these at TPS. Expect to pay twice more then std
