Power steering rack

Featured Replies

The power steering rack on my 2000 1.9d pickup is leaking on the nearside and filling the gaiter with fluid. Can the seals on these racks be replaced or do I need a whole new rack?

Thanks

Pete

They can be replaced yes, but you need a special skoda workshop tool to remove the track rod from the rack. So you may be better off just getting an exchange recon rack from a motor factor. Often the new seals leak when you attempt to do them yourself, especially I you are trying to pikey it and do it with the rack in situ.
