coilover or springs?

Featured Replies

hi guys, i am looking too lower my fabia vrs, but am not sure which is better, weather to use coilovers or lowering springs?

i want to drop it between 40mm and 60mm, there are 18inch alloys on at the moment but

might put some other 17" on instead. let me know what you think is best? cheers.

Could give PSI tuning a call in Ches and see what they can do you for unless you're doing it yourself?

Coilovers will let you vary the ride height. Also, because they normally use a lower overall diameter than "normal springs" (stock or lowering/uprated), they will give you clearance to run wider wheels without having wheel/tyre to spring contact issues.

Your concern is more about wheel width and offset dimensions than about diameter. A 6.5x18 rim with a suitable tyre profile might fit with the stock springs, but a 9.0x16 would probably need coilovers to get clearance on the inside.

Totally happy with my 25mm drop on konis. Best all round I think. Look through my recently started threads and you can see some pics. Can't post any at the moment im on my jolls lol
