The Definitive Suspension Thread

Featured Replies

Ive noticed on this forum that a lot of people are asking about uprated suspension for there fabia's. Im the same and am also looking at what are the best options that are available so both standard + spring, uprated dampers + springs and of course coilovers.

What I think might be a very useful Idea is anybody who has upgraded there suspension to any one of the above to simply say what suspension kit has been used e.g KW Variant 1 Coilovers. The height diffrence so e.g 25mm front 25mm rear. A picture of course and a brief description of how the car feels with the kit on. So crashy, bouncy, steady, planted, comfortable etc....

Personally myself am not looking for looks, am simply looking for a suitable upgrade over the standard set up so a fixed daily ride height would be perfect for me. Am sure other members may find this thread to be most helpful very much like the alloy archive thread.

 Thanks for anyone who participates

Budget Jom coilovers, lowered approx 45mm, can be quite bouncey at times but overall very very good, car feels very planted for the most part.

Original dampers, just Eibach pro kit 25mm drop. Firmer but very comfy ride. Not a fan of cars on it's rears, especially doing 250-300 miles a week and also karting a family about.

Koni strt kit 25mm drop nice visual drop but clears all speed bumps, handling superb with my rarb, ride not harsh

Just add to say more rarb is set to stiffest.

Weitec gt heicon. Crap. Crashy, dust covers smashed to bits and never sat right and adjusters in the front have seized up after just over a month. Awsomegti not very helpful with their warranty. Having said all this my bought some used and has had them for ages and theyre fine. My car is not all that low compared to some.

good replys peeps keep them coming! Pictures would also be spot on to, I was looking at the eibach damper and spring route

Vogtland Shocks and springs. Whiteline rarb. Seat strutbrace.

Vast improvement over the worn out kit that was on there.

Doesnt like deep potholes, (what does??) but general overall ride improved  .

Haven't really pushed it hard yet since installation but have been

breaking in new front brakes recently and haven't even clocked up

60 miles since it all went on.

For a mid range kit they have surpassed my expectations and I find

that combined with the other handling mods done since I've owned the car.

(Octy 2 4 prong console bushes, rarb and strut brace)

I have ended up with a nice improvement over standard without going

too hard core. I am also happy with the splitter friendly 25mm drop

Koni FSD's and Eibach springs (25mm drop). It's low enuf for me as i dont like the slammed to the floor look lol, the koni fsd's are nice once u get going but can be abit bouncy, i wudnt pay the 400 quid for them, i got mine second hand.

Just to say what a brill thread really good idea!
