anyone in SHROPSHIRE with VCDS or VAG-com ,,,... mine keeps crashing and need to get my installed cruise controll working

When you say crashing....

You need to be quite careful there if you think it's a computer hardware fault, as a crash at the point where it's trying to update a module's configuration could be particularly unpleasant.

Have you another laptop you could try your cable with? Or perhaps uninstall the software? As you probably know, the VCDS license actually lives on the cable, so you can install the VCDS software on any other PC and be working with that inside 5 mins.

Im installing it on my wife's laptop now

i dnt mind traveling to you if u can help.. if i cant get a solution today

iv checked wiring and im getting power right through to the ECU. so its just internal stuff now to re-check

Yep, if you've got the correct coding to hand I don't mind taking a look, as it's been a good while since I worked on a Mk1

from this its telling me everythin is working then ?

are you certain that you have the wires correct into the multi plug behind the dash? double check those first as the no's on the block are hard to read,

are there any faults in the engine ecu?

a brake light or clutch switch fault will stop the cruise from working too.
