I am trying to restore my car to a near factory silent engine. You know... a tight, spot on engine, no rattles, clunks, hissings etc.

So I am asking you to identify the top noise sources in a DESCENDING order (loudest first) on a medium worn out engine, fully functional, but quite noisy.

Timing Chain

Alternators - rattle as well
