Please enlighten me, the remap is imminent!

I'd say for a stage-1 map, a Green/Pipercross filter is sufficient.

I put a Pipercross one in mine and it's performing well.

FYI Pagey, it's the same type and part number for the Pipercross one on the 1.4TSI in the Golf too. That's the one I bought, and got a bargain on eBay because it was only listed as compatible with the 1.4TSI

A lot of members on the mk5 forum reckon the same regarding an intake especially on standard software. Should I scratch that off my list then. ;)

Were you doubting me by double-checking with those VW folk? :p

In all my years of dieseldom, I've never fitted anything but a performance air filter. And I always change from the standard paper item....

Its the other way round mate! Posted there first as its for swmbos Golf, and to be honest I am kinda losing faith, considering its hyped up as a tuning forum, information wasn't exactly forthcoming.........i will always rely on your opinion buddy!

time to troll ebay me thinks....;)

If you are mapping it, spend just a little extra, the BMC induction kit is well regarded, Fr&R tuning sell it ready to roll for a PD140..

I will check that out Daz, thanks.

@Wardy, the cheapest panel filter on the bay is £35.99 inc del for either the TSi or TDi, iirc thats what I paid for the one I had in the vRS before the EVOMS reared its ugly head! Reasonable??

I think in time I will change the DP as this is apparently the way forward, not sure where I heard that though? :giggle:

Don't buy a dp from pp tuning on ebay, as I found out (via Wardy!), if you want a panel filter I have a spare piperx one from my pd140, twenty quid to your door!

If you do decide to replace the box, or anyone does, I could do with a PD 140 airbox lid for a little project.

Is this the place where the sell a dp that doesn't fit?

If I decide on one it will be a miltek, pipewerx or a custom jobbie from BCS tuning. I will hopefully be getting a DP next month for the vRS, which is far more improtant than swmbo's oil burner. :giggle:

That's about right, yes. I got a steal on my Pipercross as I said though, as it was advertised just for the 1.4TSI. Think it was less than £10 delivered, new emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Don't get me started! ;) Yes, that's the one.

If you're looking at one (vRS or GT) then I can't recommend Pipewerx enough, as you probably already know emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Cheers,

Steve

Some that may be of interest to you. This supposes that the GT uses Pipercross PN PP1621, which it should as the one in my Octy is supposed to be for a Golf :)
