I love the ad

"Adds up to 10 to 15 additional horsepower and up to 16 foot pounds of torque ! ( result might be vary )"

Cost £300 upwards to get 30bhp from a remap, but this CAI can add 15 for 38.99!! Get me two! lol.

Personally my friend, I would say give it ago yourself. I know you say you're not car literate but with these vag cars I personally believe it is worth learning how to do it yourself and with something like a CAI it is so easy to fit.

A million and one guides on here (search : bowders1)

The only thing you have to be careful of is the MAF because it is delicate.

Quick how to...

Remove the front passenger side grille located at the bottom of the bumper( put two screw drivers in the bottom and pull out)

You will see a solid plastic form in your way, you will need to cut that out.

If you want to keep the original diamond grille, you will have to scratch away the back of it until you cut through to make air holes. I used an angle grinder. If you don't want them then you can just buy grille inserts from miltek. I personally think mesh is tacky but its your choice at the end of the day.

Look in the engine bay for the airbox (above the battery box) unplug the MAF's sensor and then with a set of pliers pull back the clamp and detach from the top of the airbox.

Unplug the Secondary air pump pipe, located on the side of the airbox, engine side.

Take the lid of the airbox off, out with the filter, unbolt the bottom on the box. 10mm's I believe.

Get the rubber pipeing of the kit and attach that to the MAF, same way it was attach to the top of the airbox

Get the main pipe and attach the filter to the longest end with the jubilee clip. Feed it down past the the battery box. Some people remove the bumper. but all you need to do is remove the light to make life easier. 10mm and pull it out.

Once in place attach the metal pipe to the rubber pipe with another jubilee

Using the smaller filter, attach that to the secondary air intake pipe. The hard plastic flexi pipe you took off the side of the airbox. Cable tie the pipe low down and away from the engine.

Job is done.

A good 2 hours work at the max.
