Reversing sensors installed

Featured Replies

Got round to installing the reversing sensors today. Well, what can I say? Exceptional value at £15, includes the hole saw for drilling the bumper.

I made a hole in an existing grommet to get the wires into the boot, and I didn't have to take the bumper off to do it.

To make matters even more easy, the reversing light had a trailing terminal already provided, so I didn't have to cut the existing wiring or use skotchlocks.

I can highly recommend this kit, and an easy install.

Hi,

The kit came from here

Other users here have it too.

Hello mate,

How much electronics skill is required for these, as mine are poor at best, but its something i would be interested in possibly getting done on the car.

Also, how good are the sensors, as i have driven cars in the past where the reverse sensors are set up very much on the cautious side of things, and you end up getting beeped at non-stop!

Cheers

The most difficult part is identifying the feed to the reversing lights. You will ideally need a voltmeter or one of those probes that lights up. I'm not sure if the wire colours are the same for all ages of mk1?

As for sensitivity I can't really answer that. From testing I think continuous beep is at about 200mm
