If you check your Warranty Booklet you will find that cutch comes under fair wear and tear.

Clutch slip does not start suddenly, find a level piece of road, at 30MPH in top gear try to accelerate hard if you have a worn out clutch it will slip. To make a clutch slip taking away from traffic lights suggests that the clutch is worn out and it would also be obvious in all gears, or very agressive driving in which case the milleage is very good.

I used to have a highly tuned Ford Orion, standard clutch, driven for maximum performance clutch lasted 14 years over 160,000 miles and was still going strong two years after I sold it.
