The Yeti's next 1,8 TSI engine?

Featured Replies

41 US mpg = 50 mpg in our money, sounds good to me.

The engine labeling is rather confusing. We used to have TFSI from 05-09 and then we went to TSI and now seemingly Audi are going back to the older engine labeling, I presume it is new technolodgy.

But isn't that engines just a tuned 1.8TSi that we have now? Doesn't appear to have anything new on it, apart from variable valve timing on the exhaust cam which we get on the 2.0TSi on Octavia/Superb but not sure about the 1.8TSi engine.

Either way, 170bhp is good plus the 320Nm from 1,400rpm is very appealing.

I'd be suprised if it actually does 50mpg on the combined cycle. I would expect high 30s in an A5 with that engine, I drove a diesel one recently and that was only doing 38mpg even on a long journey.
