Interior platsics?

Featured Replies

Picked up my new VRS 3 weeks ago, and have noticed that when resting my arm on the door card whilst driving it is being marked, it seems to be going light grey, almost white, the only way to sort it is to clean it i.e. with some sort of APC or using a dressing on top, but this merely masks it.

Initially I was blaming the wife as she sometimes uses body lotions etc so presumed it was some type of residue, but its being marked by myself and I use no lotions or potions on my arms!!!!

Anyone else had this problem? Never had this issue with any other car whether it was a new car or a used one, I thought it might be as its new bu its still doing even after using the car for 3 weeks etc etc

If this hasnt happened to anyone else etc then I will take it back to the dealer and get some suggestions from them, but thought worth checking on here before I go back to the dealer.

Thanks in advance, James.

Yes my 4 week old vRS is the same

It happens on my vrs and happened on my last one too but an interior cleaner / dressing should sort it. Just be careful resting your arm there the foam tends to sink leaving a blister in the vinyl covering. Dealers usually replace it while in warranty though

Brilliant, thanks for that, will keeo an eye on it and if it needs replacing then will see what they say.

I had same on fabia vrs and new octy one I assumed it was the texture of the surface more or less acting like a mild sand paper and the mark its leaving is your dry skin cells. As suggested dressing the surface stops it as it makes it more slippy. I could be totally wrong but it only happens when its skin on it not when in a long sleeved shirt or jacket!

You don't need to use products to remove those skin marks. Just keep a microfibre cloth in the glovebox and they wipe off dry with no effort

Exactly what i do, it is just marked from your skin n wipes off with a microfibre cloth. simples emoticon-0148-yes.gif
