Which OBD cable will work best with my Octavia ?

Featured Replies

I have a 2006 model Skoda Octavia 1.8t and i want to buy a OBD2 cable so i can check and diagnose minor issues at home . The problem i am facing is that i don't know which one will actually work with my car .

I am not looking to spend much money so i am planning to buy one of those chinese/hong kong made ones .

and which softwares will give me the most information and control over the car ?

The options i have are -

Option 2

Option 3

Option 4

Option 5

Option 6

Reference to illegal copy of VCDS removed

Option 6, VAG Com 4.09 should work and you can get full functonality from it by registering it if you like it. It should work providing that your car uses the K line for diagnostics, rather than CAN Bus, which I should think that the MK 1 Octavia, even for the Indian market uses.

I have removed option 1 as this is a hacked/illegal copy of one of latest versions of the software.
