A friend of mine has bought one of these chips you see advertised to give you more mpg and said both his octavias mpg have improved.

Now having a 2.5 v6 auto which aren't the most economical I thought i would look into them but they only seem to list them for engines up to 2 litre.

HAs anyone ever seen one for the 2.5 v6 and if so do they work??

Had my 2.5 remapped by a firm in Blackpool. It transformed the car. Much quicker. Removed the flat spots in the power delivery. The extra power also "woke up" the auto gearbox. Fuel consumption didn't get better 'cos I drove it harder (and realised the standard front shockers were no longer up to the task. But then that's what happens when you start modifying one item).
