If your not replacing the downpipe or fitting an aftermarket system I wouldn't bother.

The restriction is the downpipe

Yes, faster spool times as its an increased diameter so less restriction

the down pipe is the cat ?

You can't replace just the cat section without replacing the down pipe anyway, as they come as either a one piece or two piece section

Ok folks can cut out the cat and replace with a less restrictive one but most folks won't do that.

Well in the case of the std cat then yes(as per my point above) this is a one piece so if you replace the cat then you effectively are replacing the downpipe too.

Ahh nuts I was thinking of my de cat cause it's 2 piece I swap between cat and de cat :giggle:

Compared to the original skinny thin pipe:

after a decat pipe and a better exhaust also any body ever fitted a stainless tubuler exhaust manifold any problems have one to fit any guidance would be appreciated

ive got a sports cat and full miltek system noticeably more power than standard cat or maybe its just more noise lol

would you recommend the miltek system and is it ok for the mot  what is the noise like from inside the car

Noise is minimal even on the non resonated system (cheaper and a tastier note). Never had an issue with milltek stuff so a thumbs up from me.

pretty quiet have to have windows down to appreciate the noise

thanks lads for your info and help miltek it is then no one fitted a tubuler exhaust manifold wanted to know if there was anything to look out for

Tubular manifold?

eBay downpipe decat or sports cat for around £100 or milltek downpipe circa £400.

Mate that to a Non res cat back system
