WINCE 6 WITH GPS ON SKODA BOLERO

Featured Replies

have managed to couple wince6 with touch screen on bolero .under wince we can run gps and other wince programs.

just press and hold the SETUP button for few seconds and wince screen appears.

have used chinese wince kit (GB108 SINOEMBED) but changed the OS to use wince directly.

cannot attach photos with my posting so photo are uploaded

if this is true .. is a great news.

I understood that you install a application on bolero.

But what i don't understand is how bolero has gps antenna.

This can't be added by a software.

Can you tell us more details about this ?

the wince and gps is on additional hardware which is enabled after pressing the setup button.

the antenna is connected to the additional hardware and not to the original system .

the hardware output is coupled with the system display and touch .

yes you are right it cannot be added just by software.

so in order to do this you need to resoft your bolero an also to take it out in order to add the antenna?

The original functionality of bolero remain?

What was the price to do this ?

Well done, sounds interesting. Hope a complete "How-to" follows soon.

Just a quick question, I presume when the WinCE Board is engaged, the rest of the Bolero functionality like Music Playing, OPS, etc is redundant?

The original thread was started nearly 18 months ago, so I would not expect a write up soon.

Do you have the link to the thread please?

its this thread, it was started in August 2011 and is the only thread.

I would like to see a write up as well, I am sure many members will find it interesting. I know Ravjeet is still active on the forum as he last visited very recently.

Ah, never noticed this thread was started way back in Aug last year, should start looking at dates from now.

Looks like the Bolero has some kind of Interface on its Board (PCB) for add-on's like this one. I hope Ravneet or someone would be able to update this thread, quiet interesting.

Google search on Sinoembed brings up this

The Module in question here is the GB108, which is a PCB add-on Module, the reason why it is particularly interesting. The above website does not refer to it anywhere on their website.

Here is one I found detailing GB108's specs but nothing more: http://translate.goo...cts.asp&act=url
