Not sure if this has already been covered. My new vRS SE came with worn keys and looked in to replacing them but obviously knew that would be expesive. So looked at re-housing the current internals in to a new case but was worried about breaking the chip inside.

2 min job to do - use a screwdriver to pop the key in half from under the key blade, remove old buttons, push new ones on, put back together. Job done.

Nice job. I just cleaned mine up with a detailing brush and some APC

Someone did a key 'detail' on here, will see if I can find the link....

I changed the whole outer case of the fob bought it on eBay and it looks great. Wasnt much of a problem getting the chip out but it did need recoding after :(
