Hi guys,

Ordered an MY12 Elegance 170 in August - and it's arrived here already (am in Australia). I am so surprised it's already here - I was initially told it would be here in November at the earliest!

I was under the impression that the MY12 cars would have the 'new' Skoda badge, as part of their CI (Corporate Image). I understand there are different specs in different countries, but is there any easy way to tell if a vehicle is MY12? Here in Oz the only visible changes are (I thought badge), bluetooth standard, and different tie-down eyes in the luggage rails (from a rectangular to a wire design).

The dealer assures me the vehicle is MY12 because "it said so on the computer". <sigh>. I just want to be sure before I hand over the money.

The new badge will come in year 2012, not the MY12.

Check the VIN in the windscreen!

Digit No.10 is the model year.

You'll be looking for 2 in this position denoting 2012MY

Turn off the stability system and if the maxi-dot reports that you have turned ESC off then it's a MY12, if it says ESP off then it's an older model.

It says ESC on mine, and I believe it's a MY11 ;-) (delivered March, 2011)

Maybe it differs from market to market then?

The other difference on UK Superbs at least if the parking brake warning light on MY12 it looks like (P) on older models it is (!).

Check the VIN in the windscreen!

8th digit/letter read from left is the MY. 2010: A, 2011:B, 2012:C. If its numerical its MY 2001-2009 depending on the number.

That goes for all vehicles from VAG.

Use a vin (vehicle identification number) to check all you need about your car (all equipments coming from factory, not added later)
