Alloy wheel refurbishment - west yorks

Featured Replies

can anyone recommend a decent alloy wheel specialist in west / south yorks.

i have just bought a set of audi wheels which need work.

suggestions i have had have been.

the wheel specialist in leeds - too expensive at £336.

national alloys in widnes - look good but would prefer someone nearer home.

you need to speak to them directly, ( wheel specialist )you will get discount Nigel 280 max for mine(smoked chrome, black will be much cheaper

i will try that alan

however

the outfit in widnes who come highly recommended only want £40 per wheel

they will not be powder coated or done with the tyre off for that, just a basic cosmetic touch up for the price

edit , yes looked at widnes site, they are not powder coated, so not as durableand they want 20 to 25 on top if they are damaged in any way, ws is the full price

Not true if you're talking about National Alloys. That's a full refurb price - acid dip, etc

We provide a full refurbishment service in which wheels are sand-blasted back to the alluminium removing all paint and any corrosion. Curb damage is then repaired by machining/welding (we don't use filler) before applying a laquered finish.

The Wheel Specialist in Leeds has been recommended many times on another Forum that I regularly visit.

Another bonus is that they are able to do a 'same day' service on wheel refurbs where you drive in, leave your car and they will take the tyres off, refurb the rims, refit the tyres and put the rims back on your car in a day.

There are other firms that will paint your wheels, such as Wicked Wheels who operate in my area, on a same day basis, but I don't know of any others who will offer the same turnaround to powder coat them.

still not powder coated though

I'm seeking confirmation on that. As the service I've had from them in the past included this, when they all worked at ProClean.

can I give a tip. Don't just search for alloy wheel refurbishers or services specific to cars because you will find that these places can sometimes charge more because the customers are usually willing to pay more. Alloy wheels are nothing more than metal after all.

A good example of this is a quote I got today. I emailed local firm (local to me, not you) specialists in shot blasting and metal refurbishment and asked about alloy wheels, they came back with "£45.00 a wheel - shotblast, prime & powdercoat"

Good tip.

I'm also looking for somewhere.

Once I get my second set of alloys off Brimma I can get these off and get them blasted off and powder coated.

Want it as cheap as possible and just looking to get them done in silver... no anthracite etc! lol

Maybe they used to do, but I am sure if they did now the website would show that

That's why I'm checking - as website design and content was never their strong point :)
