hi there forum,,i have a 2000 occty 1.9 deisel on w plate,, problem today is ,, i fitted a new kenwood cd player,, and since fitting it ,, when i try to lock the car the c/l wont work,, works fine with the key,, but not the fob,, was working fine before i fitted this contraption,, any ideas as to how this is affecting the c/l ,, batteries on keys are fine,just today this started. HELP!!!!

Sounds like you have dislodged some of the CCU wiring.

Does the lock/unlock button on the driver's armrest work for all doors?

Or the new HU is injecting power back into the k-line which is causing the CCU to throw a wobbly (I would avoid plugging in VAGCOM and the like).

Disconnect the new HU and see if the remote central locking starts to work again, if so then you know what is causing the problem. If this is the issue, then I think you just need to cut one wire on the ISO harness for the HU, but a search I am sure would give the answer.

You might need to swap the +12v perm/memory and ignition sense cables (red and yellow) around in your harness too.

IIRC, the K-line connection to the radio is the Green/Brown wire on pin3 of the black 8-pin connector

Just try pulling out the Black 8-pin plug from the HU and see if everything works again.

If that doesn't work, then check the connections to the CCU.

Does the sunroof work?

If it does work...

remove the pin 3 (Green/Brown wire) from the black 8-pin connector, tape it up and put the connector back.

At this point the HU will work but it may lose its settings/stations when you turn off the ignition. You can get an adapter loom that will fix this.

hi there forum, managed to get round the c/l problem,,, took the new cd player out and replaced it with the old one,, job done,,ps ,, the old one has better performance than the new one,, just doesnt look as good,, but thanks for the info guys.!!!!!
