Electric problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

my problem started when my radio goes off while i was driving, but then i realize that when i stoped on a red light the radio comes on again.

Then i see that radio turn off when i accelerate and turn on when my felicia was running at ralenti (bellow 1500rpm's).

I went to a battery guy that told me there was a problem in a diode from the alternator, and the alternator was overcharging the battery.

Maybe he is right, also because i notice a bad smell inside my car.

Ok, not a big deal, but then i lost my front medium lights, a day after lost the front fog lights, and the last thing was the electric windows.

I notice that the windows goes down, but do not go up.

So now i have my felicia inside the garage with both windows open, and they dont close.

I've checked the fuses and they look ok, cai it be a relay ?

Can i solve this easly , is this a common problem , give me some ideas or feedback of what you think about this problem.

Thanks.

It does sound like the alternator voltage regulator is broken

Seconded. It's a very common problem, and the diode pack (also known as the regulator or control box) on the Felicia can be changed separately from the alternator itself.

Meanwhile, you are over-volting all your electrical and electronic equipment, causing it to fail. Get the regulator changed ASAP!!:dull:
