Supercharged 328 BMW?

Featured Replies

Has anyone heard of a hammond conversion for the new 328 bmw. Apparently its supercharged?

Does anyone know the spec of these?

Never heard of Hammond as a Beemer tuner? And I thought they would be using the 330 engine now? IIRC BMW stopped using the 2.8 engine in 99/2000.

Supercharged 328's are a perfect alternative to M-power. Cheaper to buy and run, chargers are bolt on and off, power is less, than and M but torque is more, and due to the gearing and revving lower it is quicker than an M3 E36 and sits in between the power of a E46 M3 and a E46 CSL. I love my BMW's, used to have a 325 then a M3 both E30's. Great cars indeed !!!

Agree to that. I loved my last 2 BMs (E30 325i & E36 325i).

Popping down to see the old man at the weekend. His current garage contains:

1992 E34 520i Touring

1987 E24 635CSi

2001 E36/7 M Coupe

Lovely jublee

Nice choices! I'd be torn between the M 'bread van' and the 635 myself. Pity it's not an M635 'Batmobile' though :)

M coupe for me everytime. The 'Six' is a great cruiser tho. Just eats those motorway miles.

M Coupe looks brilliant to me, best looking BeeEm for a while IMO - I'm sure others will disagree! Maybe I'll have one some day...

Ive just got back, was riding around in it tonight, really liked the sound and the paddle shift. To be honest when i looked under the bonnet I couldnt see anything that looked like a supercharger. Looked very stock, not like the one on the link above.

Do superchargers have any noticeable noises?

Not really sure on the installation of them. I think the only super'd car I've been in was a Mini Cooper-S. Didn't sound as good as a turbo, there was a bit of a constant drone to it. I joked and told the guy his car sounded like a food processor  - the S *definitely* needs a proper sports exhaust as standard!

I may have moved on for now, but the next car (2nd car) will be another BM. I rather fancy a 130i at the mo

Sounds like your family is even more BM than mine! I have a cousin with an E39 528i sport (had an E34 3.8 M5 before) but thats about it. Just left to me and my Dad to keep the German side of the family up. And now ive deserted!

No didnt go to any shows last years besides Goodwood. Out of interest, what was happening at Gaydon?

i want a bmw as my 2nd "toy" car to replace the TD nova, fancy a 735i
