carbon fibre stuff

Featured Replies

Right finally got a contact who run a carbon fibre company!

What would people want made so I can get an idea what and how many. I can then approach him for a pukka price ;.-)

Start a list

Carbon fiber wing mirror covers would be a nice addition!

center console cover in carbon would be good.

Maybe the scuttle tray along the bottom of the windscreen?

Oo nice light stuff - good for posting!

How easy is it to remove the roof?

I would like a carbon roof(being a black car) and a full carbon Bonnet. Paint the bonnet tho so you cant tell. Purly lightness.

Would cost a fortune tho I think.

Just a stupid one but just imagin if you won that £160M and could have all the pannels done in CF? wonder what weight saving you would get.

Off topic, You still trying to get another vRS?

Billy

If you had 160M I think you'd be tinkering with a faster car to start with :)

maybe but Id still keep my vRS.

Thing is the vRS was bought by good hard worked money so means more to me than anything Id be able to buy with winings.

I think a proper CF roof tho would be nice, wouldnt save much on weight tho would it?

However lowers the centre of gravity (same with having the hatch and bonnet done) which equals less weight and better handling, why do you think the BMW M3-M5, world touring cars etc have them.

The Ford works Rally team are so an*l about the centre of gravity even the intercom control box is fitted to the trans tunnel!

... why do you think the BMW M3-M5... have them...

Such big fat heavy slugs they need them

They last M3 weighed in at 1.5 tonnes, and the M5 at 2 tonnes, sapping all that engine power away

  • 2 weeks later...

I might be interested in a spoiler centre console n bonnet depending on prices
