Clutch adjuster

Featured Replies

My bite point is quite high but the clutch isn't slipping yet is it possible to lower the bite point on the peddle or is it a case of just replace it. Reason i'm asking is i'm about to embark on 1800 mile trip round Europe on friday. (banger rally<not the crashing sort>).

You can loosen the nut on the end of the cable at the clutch release lever on top of the gearbox. However this will change the height of the clutch pedal (can't remember if it will raise or lower). This will only help with slip if the cable is currently engaging the clutch a little. The other thing to consider is whether the clutch cable itself is sticking.

Chances are it will be new clutch time.

If the clutch is at the top of the pedal then slackening the nut will just make it so it won't disengage when you press the pedal.
