Columbus fan keeps working with engine off?

Featured Replies

I just installed a used Columbus unit and it seems to me that the little fan it has on the back side keeps working all the time. I entered the car after several hours I parked it and heard it working... :o

Anyone else encountered the same problem???

The fans will come on as soon as you unlock the car. Unlocking the car starts the boot process of the Columbus so its ready for when you need it. To check that the fans turn off, remove key from ignition and wait for around 5-10mins and the fans should turn off.

Ok will do that. Thx :)

I noticed that as well when I first fitted one. Mine stays on for quite a while sometimes so if you get fed up waiting to see if it goes off just don't lock the car when you get out. When you go back to check go in by the passenger door as I found it would kick in again when opening the drivers door even if the car had been left switched off and unlocked for a while.
