vRS Wheel Offset?

Featured Replies

Just a quickie from me, what's the smallest offset that I would need to fit over my standard vRS brakes? Might be able to get a full set of steelies for a tenner for my winter tyres! :D

My 16s are:

6.5J x 16, PCD is 5 x 112, the offset (ET) is 50, and the part number of the wheel is 1K0 601 027A

They are already pretty tight over the front brakes, not sure whether I could get away with less.

From memory when I had ET50 6.5J 16" winters, the calliper was reasonably close to the barrel of the wheel, but wasn't drastically close to the backs of the arms. I'm thinking ET50 6J might be ok, but it's getting borderline.

Ah I see what you mean, if I went to ET50 6J it might just be a little too close! Think I'll probably go for the 6.5J ET50 ones, just so that I'm safe even if anything gets in between the breaks and the wheels or something. Just a shame the guy selling the ones I wanted has sold them to someone else today, even though he said they were mine if I wanted. Grrrr...

What size steelies should I be looking for then? 16"? Or would 15" be ok? I'm just trying to make them as cheap as possible as they're obviously only on the car for about 3 months of the year!

15" is a no go

Ah right, thanks mate. So I'm looking at needing 16" 6.5J ET50, with whatever winter tyres I can get then.

205/55-16 on 6,5 16"

Sorry to bring up an old thread of mine, but could I use ET45 7J wheels without any issues?

yes, my winters are ET43 7J

Ah ok then, thanks mate. And what size tyres do you use on them?

205/55/16 is what you need on 16"s. I have them on a set of 7Jx16 ET35 wheels. Theres a thread 'show us your winter wheels' that would be worth reading
