Featured Replies

So Ive had this prob since I bought the car. Only occurs when i first turn on my climate control. I have since had my aircon serviced/recharged but its still a cheese fest. any ideas?

You could try getting the pollen filter changed.

Ask your dealer to clean the air conditioning system

My previous car developed a musty smell from the air con. I had them clean run their cleaning system though it and that cured it , after trying an off the shelf product which only lasted a few weeks. Cost was £20 a couple of years back and only took 30-40 minutes while I waited.

+1 for cleaning system. They usually use stuff that kills bacteria and fungus build-up that is often the cause of nasty niffs.

You can buy similar stuff to do it yourself; I did on SWMBO's car, but managed to get it all over the seat backs & headlining!

Check that the evaporator drain isn't blocked.

That "Parmesan" or "smelly feet" smell means that you have mold growing in there and that's not good for you.

Usually, off-the-shelf products only mask the smell. That's why the smell oftem returns. Commercial products contain chemicals that kill and prevent mold/mildew so go to an a/c specialist.

You have in the market a spray that helps this.

This happens because the AC is never/hardly used, It will go away if you start using more often the AC and drive with the window a bit down.

On another hand the cheese, I can bring the Oporto wine or any other type of wine in Oporto area. ( wine from DOURO)
