does anyone know the OUTER DIAMETER size in mm

of the original cat pipe on the octavia 1.8t vrs 2004

i won a decat off ebay direct fit stated and doesnt so need a sleeve making

found someone who can do it but need the size

Strangely enough when I was fitting my TIP I did take some measurements and they are :-

Original exhaust system

On the engine side of cat the o/d of the pipe going into the cat is.....48mm

O/d of cat body........130mm

O/d pipe diameter exiting cat towards rear of car......55mm

NB: Mine is an 05' car

ok thanks the direct fit decat i won is 58mm

garage said it was to big to go into the dual clip section between the cat and middle pipe

looks like its only 3 mm difference

The cat you won if it is 58mm is a exact fit for what you need, 3mm is perfect, but it is too short to meet up with the center section.

I guess this is why the garage was trying to re use that sleeve and it was the sleeve that was not wide enough. That dual clip is a thick piece of metal. Forget that dual sleeve. Hopefully the garage are going to use a reducer pipe that is 6" long being 55mm one end to go into decat end and 58mm the other end to fit over std center section. :thumbup:

Nope, just get garage to put a few slits in the ends to allow to be clamped tight to center section and decat end using exhaust clamps and then you can remove for MOT and re use the dual clip for your std cat and center section :thumbup:
