Remaps in South Wales

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I think my car (Elegance 1.8T) has been remapped already but I'm not sure as it's a 'Superchips ECU Modification'. Does this mean it's remapped or 'chipped'? It says on the invoice that the original filename was octaviatueb.org and the superchips filename is a3t-0294.204. Does this mean anything to anybody? Have done a search on the forum and googled it but not alot comes up...

Anyway, it's not a bad 'map' but it seems to lack smoothness and the torque seems to drop off randomly.

So whilst googling I found a couple of places in South Wales -

VS Tuning in Port Talbot - it seems they do DNA maps

Gotboost in Bridgend - they do Revo and DNA maps.

I've read on here that both the Revo and DNA maps are good, but I wanted to know if anyone has used either of the above companies and are they any good?

Cheers,

Pat :)

Edit : The Superchips 'map' was done by Lorven Performance Services

I plan to use Gotboost in Brackla in the near future

Cool. Have they got a good reputation then?

Post up when you have stuff done by them

They had a mention in the last issue of Redline magazine, and they replied to my mails about Revo maps very quickly

Speak to Rhys @ http://www.kinetictuning.co.uk/index.htm

I had mixed views on the Revo map

Thanks. I've read differing views on the Revo maps too, but it sounds like it comes down to personal preference really. What maps do kinetic use then and where are they based?

Cheers,

Pat :)

He writes his own to suit what the owner wants from the car, I did look at a Revo for mine but got told it very savage for day to day use, he is based in Merthyr Tydfil but will travel.

They're supposed to be VAG specialists...

The boys at Gwent VW in Newport can offer you an APR remap. Think they may have some kind of deal going including panel filter and 007p too so maybe worth checking them out?

Apr maps are overpriced and pants imo
