revo and H&R springs advice

Featured Replies

hey all,

in a moment of madness i decided to google my car Octavia VRs TDi CR Limited Edition hatchback number 137.

low and behold the first hit was a link to here it turns out the pervious owner was a member on here called balamber.

it looks like he did a few mods to the car such as adding tints to the rear window and rear doors, which ties in with our car.

on top of this he also has in his signiture strip that the car has had a revo remap and H & R springs (the car has very little body roll compared to a stock one i test drove before looking at this one, what do these look like and is it easy to spot that they have been done, the car really flys when you give it some and returns 50+ mpg on a long run again tiing with what i have found from previous posts.

does anyone know balamber so i could find out more as i am very interested to find out if i have really fallen on my feet with this car.

cheers in advance.

:thumbup::yes:

You could also do an advanced search for posts by him, which might well provide more info on what's been done that way as well emoticon-0148-yes.gif

If you look through the arches/wheels at the springs on the front if they are H&R ones they will either be Black,Red or Blue and will say H&R on them

cheers guys.

i have had a quick look and they seem to be black with white bands on them but i will look again for H&R looking at google images for an LE the gap between the tyre and arch looks alot bigger than it is on mine plus the bounce test is rather stiff (alot like my old car which was lowered) i am going to measure from the floor to the top of the arch later on does anyone know the stock VRs measument for that.

Looking at that pic I'd guess a 20mm drop.

Its not just your Warranty its also the insurance, it can easily invalidate it! The Revo may have been switched off?? I was reliably informed by using a revo switch the remap can be changed between standard and stage 1, however it will is still present...

If you can find this out from google so could an insurer, if there was a claim...

Cheers loz,

However my insurance company are fully aware. I have just come from a highly modded MR2, with everything declared as I do not believe in not telling them (even down to led lights ing tge heater controls).

Where would I find tge switch for the tuning you mentioned or is it an electronic plug in to turn it back on?

I thought it was about a 20mm drop as it's not too harsh.
