Back for good?

Featured Replies

Hello folks, I left my Octavia 2 in the hands of the M.B. dealer in my home town way back in 2008 when i picked up my B Class Auto ( taxi anyone? ) Diesel. While the M.B. is a lovely car and the ride quality super i do not like the price of keeping it serviced.... Er year two service was £700 so you get the drift. As a car the B Class is very capable at doing all the right stuff trips to France are a super comfortable 600 miles. The Auto box is a joy and i return well over 50 Miles to the Gallon on long runs (Motorways, duel carrage ways) like i say get behind the wheel and drive it and its a joy every time. However its just too expensive for service and spares so next year it is going to have to go unless i win the lottery.

I have been very interested in the Yeti since it was illuded to way back when... It was just a shame they were not in the mix when i was forced to changed from my Octavia 2 back in 2007/8 Due to mobility problems. So where do i go from here? Do i get a Greenline 2 Yeti and chance the D.P.F problems if i don't do too many long runs? The booklets state they may not be suitable for those making lots of short journeys. One question that springs to mind is how often does the exhaust system need to do its regeneration thing? Would it be possible to plan a long run once a month maybe to burn off all the nasty black stuff?

SO, should i chop in my B Class Merc. for a Greenline Yeti? Or DSG Yeti or just go on with my B Class and take it out of main dealer care loosing the breakdown cover M.B. provide as part of the service package.

Should i come back to Skoda?

The answer is yes.
