Yeti arrived and up and running

Featured Replies

Picked up the new Yeti 1.2 Elegance on Friday afternoon. Here it is ready for action and it will be the only time the boot is empty! Saturday saw us over the border to Merthyr Tydfil and back with a real mixture of weather and some spectacular rainbows. Saw several Fabias and Octavias but not one Yeti. I am amazed how quiet the drive is and the DSG box is really smooth. Still sorting all the gadgets and settings out - the folding mirrors are obviously a bonus as I was led to believe that they were as rare as a ...... Yeti.

Nice. I think you and I must have been picking up near identical cars at the same time - I collected mine on Friday too. I was thinking that I didn't get the curved device in the boot for holding stuff in place but then I realised it must be because I have the spare wheel so the floor is raised.

I actually saw another Yeti on my second run and there is a white one lurking near my house somewhere as I have seen it a few times recently. My winter tyres arrived on Thursday night and the SMOC stickers arrived the same day as the car. It's great when a plan comes together!!

How was the 1.2 on a longer trip? So far I've just been on local runs and it's been working out at about 42 mpg (my Diesel Octavia usually managed about 45 so I'm suitably impressed)

Congrats to you both! And a lovely colour you both picked! (Domhnall you need to update your signature!!!)

As to the curved thingy: yes you only get that with the sans spare Yetis.

And Canary: I'm well jealous of the folding mirrors! I wanted them, was promised them and then we had the whole debacle of it being impossible to fit! GRRR. Least I got £250 back from Škoda for that, but still.

Thanks Johann. I'm really pleased with the colour after several silver and metallic red cars.

It was a good job that the dealer was very thorough with his handover as I could not see the symbol for the folding mirrors from the driver's position.

Came in at 42 mpg for a 100 mile trip. Locally it has been 38 mpg, probably reduced by the fact that you have to go uphill to get out of the village!

MPG will go lower after running in the engine.

give me a break, I'm a busy man and I have a new car to play with :giggle:

Does that look any better? I forgot to mention the folding mirrors but hey, I didn't want to give you further mirror envy

hehehe :giggle: And it is not the mirrors that fill me with envy. It is the T4 camper!!! I really lust after one of the new T5 versions. But not one of the new new ones with the mamby bamby 4 cylinder engine. No, a real T5 with a five cylinder TDI engine. They sound SOOOO good!

T5 is a big car, you need a T4 if it's to be a proper van
