Should a helicoiled sump plug leak?

Featured Replies

My car was in for a service recently, and I was informed that the sumplug had previously been stripped enough to need helicoiling. They could tell it was damaged when removing it, and knew it wouldnt go back in ok..

Anyway, got the job done, but now it leaks oil, not much, just a 50p size splodge whenever i leave it anywhere.

Is it normal for it to leak, or should it be as good as new?

Thanks.

Should be better than new....

Thanks, sounds like another reason to book it back in...
