cv boot clamps

Featured Replies

replaced both outer cv boots today with "stretch boots" off ebay.

whilst i was able to tighten outer (large) clamp ok (no movement at all) with improvised tool,- the small clamp on the drive shaft despite my best efforts can still be moved a bit (with firm pressure).

the mot is on tuesday and i am wondering whether to remove the small clips and replace with jubillee clips

what do you think?

If you needvto use firm pressure to move it then it will be fine for the mot.

well it passed the mot with just a couple of advisories,-

3 tyre"s- perishing- (been on there 7yrs!)

offside front lower rear bush (slight deterioration)

fuel pipes corroded!- i did not notice that.

The only thing you need to sort out from that list is the tyres tbh, slightly deteriorated could mean anything!!!
