arch liners?

Featured Replies

hi all, i noticed today that there is no plastic wheel arch liners in the front arches on my pickup. should there be any cos i can get my hand up to the top of the wing and its caked in mud.

I dont think any Felicia was fitted with them. I know my hatchback hasnt

cheers for the fast reply, that would explain why the wing is rusting by where it bolts on under bonet, will just have to clean out and waxoil after it gets a respray.

the VW caddy has them fitted,

they always rust out on top of the inner wing panel. trouble is its impossible to get the wings off without damaging them to get in there to fix the problem

Anyone happen to know the part number for the caddy wheel arch liners?

I've had a good scan on Vagcat, but can't spot it

cheers

James

i dont think they have them jimbo, iirc its only the caddy van that does have them and that's based on a 6k ibiza

i managed to get the wing off in one piece only took me 2 hours with a chisel as i had a little prang my inner wings have not got any rust on them but i bet there rusting as i speak

Ah, that's a shame. Am thinking about doing my first gravel rally in the new Felicia, and these would be ideal to keep the crud out of the nooks and crannies under the front wings.

Cheers

James

there were some fellys fitted with liners, we have a 1.6 cube van with front ones fitted and some of the later diesel estates have them too, they aren't much use on a rally car tho as they just allow all the stones and mud to sit behind them as they don't fit that well around the strut.. better off with some old 25ltr drums and making your own

If the issue with removing the wings is the polyurethane underseal, I found the best way to deal with it was to run a stanley knife across the join (after ragging the wing and putting a crease in it). This is assuming Favorit wings were are the same as Felicia, i.e. small bolts hidden by door, light unit, and all up along the inner wing under the bonnet (with retaining nuts that often seemed to disappear as bolts were removed).

Guess the best thing you can do is remove the mud as much as possible, maybe direct a pressure washer at it.
