Front end creaking

Featured Replies

For as much as I love my superb, it's one of the most irritating cars I've ever owned! The latest one is a creaking from the front end at low speed, when braking and turning, when stationary if you turn the steering wheel it'll creek like an old gate too. It sounds like something needs greasing up, but I wondered if this was a common problem or if I could be pointed in the right direction before I douse the underside of the car in WD40! Thanks

CV joint. Check the suspension arms at the same time too.

CV Joints are fine, O/S outer boot was changed a couple of weeks ago when it was in for service, as it had split, but not thrown all the grease out. It does sound like a dry bush somewhere but finding it is the next task!

top mount bearings? mine creaked on turning when i swapped to coilovers and didnt replace them

Had this on my wifes Toledo - Broken coil spring.

Only made any noise at low speeds and didn't effect the cars handling in any way!
