I've got a glowplug out, it's the 2nd one to give up but luckily the first one was changed by the garage so I didn't have to do it.

I understand the plugs are underneatgh the cam cover. Anyone changed them and got any pointers?

I had a look at a VW forum and sometime said there is a gasket to change. Really?

Normally the gasket is ok to reuse, take the cover off but be very carefully with the connectors on the glow plugs, they can be brittle

Dead easy to do, but you will need a fairly deep socket to get the old ones out.

Make sure the engine is warm when you do it - they can be quite tight on a cold engine and you don't want to shear them off.
