Strange noise when A/C on

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've a two weeks old Superb Combi 140 TDI DSG. Since the first day, when the A/C is on, I've been hearing some strange noises coming from behind the dashboard, trough the central ventilation exits. At the beginning I could only hear it when the car was stopped at a traffic light for example. I took it to my seller garage to show it to him and after one week and 40km of tests, he returned it to me claiming it has solved it changing the "expansion valve". I just entered the car and the noise was still there, louder than before and almost all time... The manager that tested the car told me that he didn't waited stopped for the noise and just run over an over with my new car going who knows where. So, he told me to take it again to the service tomorrow.

Since he doesn't know what could be the problem, and I'm really afraid they're gonna worse my problem, even breaking other things from my new car and ruining my new engine first km, I would greatly appreciate if someone could try to listen for the recording of the noise; thanks to the mechanics of my service now it's louder and constant enough to record it.

Thank you very much in advance,

Javi

I can just confirm that I have same noises... Similar sound I can hear on cheaper Panasonic A/C split system. I think it is by design, ans nothing can be done about it.

My problem is that before they changed the valve I could only hear it from time to time but now I can hear it all the time :-(
