Hi, I have a 56 plate octavia 1.9 tdi, the arm or rod that comes out of the steering rack has got play at the rack end, is it a big job or could I replace it myself as I have been quoted £120.00 by the garage that failed it on the M.O.T. I would be grateful for any help or advice...CHEERS.

From what I've read these have a tight 36mm spanner fitting at the rack end.

You don't say which side, access could be more awkward on oneside or another.

The car will need tracking afterwards too.
