Replacing Stock Speakers on 58 Skoda Superb II - anyone done it?

Featured Replies

Well,

my 58 plate Skoda Superb II went into the shop today to get some better units fitted and have the doors dynamatted. Sadly they didnt get very far! It would appear none of the standard VW mounts used on other Skoda Models like the Octavia will fit on the Superb. The fronts seem to be on a custom 18cm mount (also the speaker size) which I don't believe is very standard. The installer did suggest he could fashion some mounts from MDF but that all sounded rather Heath-Robinson to me... so has ANYONE done a speaker upgrade on the Superb II and can provide some feedback about parts? It's a shame because I'd found some lovely DB Audio (DB Audio T-Rex6.2C)units to go in instead... I may have to resort to a small sub in the boot at this rate... not ideal :(

Apparently i may be up the creek without a paddle on this one...

Any advice appreciated.

thanks.

MDF is fine and acts as like an anionic chamber because it's fibrous. My big brother (dstev2000) replaced his speakers with components in his '60 plate Superb Estate. I shall try and find the guide he did :)
