Door Stuck!

Featured Replies

Went to get in the car this evening and the drivers side door wont open!

All the other doors work fine, but the drivers die wont open from the outside or the inside? It sound's like it locks and unlocks and I can still lower and raise the windows externally with the outer lock.

Any ideas? I can't keep getting in and out the passenger side!

It's a Fabia II HTP 70 is that helps :)

Well I ran it to the local garage (I get on well with them down there). Spent half hour looking at his new Alfa and making the appropriate noises and they fixed it for free :) being friendly goes a long way.

They said the door catch had jammed and simply needed some oil and grease, said it should be good as long as I keep it well lubricated, otherwise sometime in the next year I might need a new catch mechanism put in.

good stuff! :)

How did they open the door in the end?!

They removed the inside door panel while the door was closed (quite impressive), tightened the cable which had slipped and also greased the catch, although they have reservations about the state of the catch in the long run.
