Running costs

Featured Replies

Thinking about getting an vRS DSG TSI in the near future, but wouldn't be able to buy one outright. Couple of questions:

Whats the least I could pay per month on personal contract plan? Are there any hidden costs or downsides?

What are typical running costs?

What are servicing costs like?

Think you are looking at about £500 a month in HP, maybe a little less. Some OK deals ie 4% or so flat rate on finance.

Mileage rate works out about 55 pence per mile taking average insurance costs etc all in according to What Car etc I think.

Our insurance TSI VRS is only about £300 a year but this is a quite area and we have 75% no claims.

Petrol is about 20 ppm alone!

Services about £200 every 19K miles. TSIs are chain driven cams so no belt change costs. Gearbox oil costs about £140 every other service, one of the reason I went for the 1.8 TSI with the dry DSG as well as better economy ie about 6 mpg but only half a second slower to 60.

Car is pretty good economy wise on a run but stinks around town hence we have now acquired a Fabia petrol for the school run.

Oh but it is pretty good fun until you meet a super car or m/c and then it feels well slow.
