My mate runs a physio firm and is looking to buy some motion software http://www.contemplas.com/motion_analysis_templo.aspx for the practice. He wants to run it on a laptop so it can be used in different consulting rooms. The spec needed is as follows:

Laptop, not a mac

Needs a 2.1GHz processor and a have a 250mb direct X9 compatable graphics card.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what machine would do the job?

Just about ANYTHING not labelled a "Netbook" at any PC shop, those specs are pretty nondescript. I would try to find one with a "matt" screen, the glossy ones reflect the light too much, which could be a problem in a brightly lit consulting room, also check the viewing angle is wide enough, many of the cheap ones go "dark" if the screen is not pointing within 15-30 degrees of your face.
