Auto / tunnel lights

Featured Replies

Can these be retro-fitted? Am fairly sure that the light sensor must already be in and running, as the puddle-lights don't come on during the day.

Could this be a 'part' + VCDS kind of job?

Cheers

Alex

Do you have a pre-FL or FL?

If you already have the light sensor, then the upgraded light switch can be purchased, and an extra wire is usually required to be run from the back of the switch to the CAN gateway.

Then the coding done with VCDS to tie everything up.

Thanks. It's a pre-FL. '57 plate Elegance.

Another thing to add to the toys list then ;)

Anyone have part numbers for the switch and extra wiring?

Thanks

Pre-FL I certainly know you can do it. Pretty sure there was a 'build' thread for this, from one of the guys. Just can't remember who it was, and it listed the bits you needed.

But you're talking the switch, wire to run, plus coding and you're done emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Cheers dude, that looks informative. Might have a go at a straight "how to" when I do mine :)

I take it that this part is shared with our VW bretherin:

Auto light switch

Thanks

Yes, that's the right switch emoticon-0144-nod.gif

I think that switch will light up red (VW) instead of green (Skoda)

vw switch is slightly smaller with different led colour. this was mentioned in the light assisst thread i think.

Ah, ok.

Does anyone have the part number for the Skoda one then please? (The light assist thread didn't seem to mention it)

Cheers.

Part no:

Pre FL 1Z0 941 431 A

FL 1Z0 941 431 J REH (i think this should work for pre FLs as well)

Wire should go from light switch to BCM TERMINAL E PIN 14 for Pre FL models
