Fabia heating!

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls, first post, and not the best with cars, but willing to give it a go!

The heaters on my 2000 Fabia have given up the ghost. The fan speeds all work as they should, as does the switch to select which vents pump the air out, but the temperature barely changes from cold. There is a SLIGHT difference between fully cold, and fully hot, but it is only slight. Any ideas what I can try to resolve the problem?! Especially as it's getting nippy in the mornings now!

Cheers, Andy.

If the engine is warming up as it should and coolant pipes feel hot then I think it will be the flap motor inside the car that's goosed !

Someone with more knowledge should be along soon to give you a deffo answer.

more than likely its the flap motor - mine is the same! I was quoted about £300 from Skoda to have a new motor fitted. I took it to the dealers and they resequenced the motor and its since been fine. But there are signs that its going to go again. every now and then it sticks on full hot.

Cheers guys, I figured it might be something like that after looking around on here. The engine is warming up and everything just as it should, and the coolant is doing it's thing, so I guess that rules out a nadged thermostat? Is the flap motor easy to get to, or is it buried in the dash/engine bay somewhere?

Ta.

You can get to the flap motor and replace it if you have small hands. But yoiu'll have to go to the main dealer (or someone with VAGcom)to get the motor sequenced

Coolio, where abouts is it, in simple terms haha, I'm no expert!

There is a thread on here somewhere with a pic of its location
