Im going to paint my chrome grille bit black at the weekend, do you lacquer satin black?

Im not sure what black to gp for a really want it to look matt so it goes with the black plastics on the front, but will just primer and matt black be strong enough for abuse the front of the car gets.

So to make sure.

Take grille apart

Rub down the chrome

primer

rub down

paint

Surely if you do it becomes gloss black? :wonder:

Thought about using vinyl? Cheaper and reversible.

I painted mine satin black looms gd against the black magic

Didn't laqeur mine

If you lacquer it will go gloss, but if it was warm out you can make the lacquer mist and it will dry in the air as it lands so it gives a satin effect. done it on my wheels.
